Awnonna Rashid

Awnonna is an Associate Lawyer at Unified LLP, practising labour law, professional regulation, and human rights law. Recognizing the complexity and vulnerability inherent to workplace issues, she is dedicated to advocating for workers’ rights with a diligent and empathetic approach.
Awnonna has represented clients before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, the Small Claims Court, the Human Rights Tribunal, and the Landlord and Tenant Board.
Prior to joining the firm, Awnonna completed her articles at a union-side labour law and civil litigation firm in Toronto. She deepened her knowledge on all aspects of the workplace relationship by assisting on grievance arbitration, human rights, professional regulation and discipline, and employment matters. Most recently, Awnonna gained experience assisting health professionals on civil matters including medical malpractice and professional negligence.
Awnonna graduated from Queen’s University Faculty of Law, where she cut her teeth at Queen’s Legal Aid. She developed her advocacy skills by managing a high case load of employment, administrative, human rights, social benefits, and criminal matters. Awnonna was also a founding member of the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF) branch in Kingston, a volunteer for Pro Bono Students Canada, and an Executive Member for numerous clubs.
In her free time, Awnonna enjoys bouldering and hot yoga, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, and making regular visits to her local movie theatre.
