Lawyer / Disability / Employment
Chris is a lawyer at Unified LLP and practices exclusively in the areas of Disability Insurance Law (short-term disability and long-term disability) and Employment Law. Chris helps clients with matters involving short-term and long-term disability benefit denials/terminations, wrongful dismissals, restrictive covenants (non-competition, non-solicitation, non-disclosure), workplace harassment, workplace discrimination, unpaid wages, commission entitlements, and bonus entitlements, including incentive plans such as stock options and restricted stock units.
Amongst his clients, Chris is well known for being straightforward and for providing efficient and comprehensive legal services. Taking a goal-oriented approach, through meticulous planning and strategizing, Chris works with his clients to maximize their claims and to ensure that all available avenues are considered.
Most importantly, he is always available to his clients.
Chris regularly appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court, as well as various Administrative Tribunals, including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, Social Security Tribunal and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Tribunal.
Prior to the formation of Unified LLP, Chris gained extensive experience working at a boutique law firm focusing on employment law and short and long-term disability insurance benefits, and was part of the Civil Claims Duty Counsel project where he gained valuable experience assisting self-represented litigants with civil matters in the Provincial Courts.
