Ariel Ramdewar

Ariel Ramdewar is an Associate Lawyer at Unified LLP and a member of the firm’s Employment Law and Disability /group. She services clients throughout Ontario.
Ariel’s practice includes employee side employment litigation including wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal and employment standards. Ariel also assists clients who are faced with discrimination or harassment under any of the protected grounds in the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Canadian Human Rights Act.
Ariel is a zealous and uncompromising advocate for her clients. She helps clients navigate the overwhelming impact of the litigation process by providing them with ongoing support and proactive strategic actions. She has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court, Human Rights Tribunal, Ontario Labour Relations Board, Canadian Industrial Relations Board, and has assisted with matters before the Ontario Court of Appeal.
Prior to the formation of Unified LLP, Ariel was an Associate Lawyer at Shillers LLP. She completed her articling term at a commercial litigation boutique in Toronto. During law school, Ariel was awarded with an Erasmus scholarship to attend The Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) where she specialized in International Human Rights Law and Policy. Ariel currently sits on the Board of Directors for AfterMeToo, an organization committed to ending workplace sexual misconduct, violence and harassment. She also supports the LGBTQ2S community as a volunteer lawyer with The 519 Legal Clinic. As part of her commitment to assisting vulnerable and marginalized groups, Ariel has completed special training on gender and sexual diversity in the workplace, domestic violence in the workplace, supporting survivors and victims of trauma, and psychosocial support.

Personal
Outside of work, Ariel enjoys hiking, trying out different fitness classes in Toronto and visiting local craft breweries and wineries. Ariel has a bit of wanderlust, and you will often find her contemplating her next adventure.
